It was a very highly valued stone since ancient Egypt, mined in the oldest mines in the world such as in Afghanistan or Pakistan. Lapis lazuli was even used on the funeral mask of Tutankhamun. In history, it was often pulverized and used in coloring clothes or as a painting color. Lapis lazuli is one of the oldest spiritual stones that was used by priests, kings, and healers for ages.
